For safe rooms and panic rooms, Snake River Hardwoods supplies the concealment layer: hardwood paneling, casing, and millwork milled in Rigby, Idaho to match the surrounding room, so the entry reads as ordinary architecture. The engineered panic room doors themselves come through parent company Murphy Door®, which designs and manufactures hidden doors, secret rooms, and panic rooms in the United States.

The room

Security people harden the door. We make it boring.

A panic room entry has to survive two different inspections. The first is force, and that’s hardware and engineering, Murphy Door® territory, hinges and structure built in-house since a firefighter’s home theater door started the company in 2012. The second inspection is a stranger’s eyes moving across the room, and that one is won by wood. The entry that looks exactly like the pantry, the closet, or the wainscot beside it never gets tested, because it never gets found.

Making a door boring is precision work. The casing profile, the baseboard line, the species, the finish sheen, every one has to run uninterrupted past the opening. Any mismatch is a tell. One mill cutting the door skin and the room’s millwork from one batch is how the mismatch never happens.

Texture and finish matched across an opening is what keeps a door unnoticed.
What we supply

The ordinary that hides the extraordinary.

Paneling and millwork in solid hardwood or veneer, raw for your finisher to match the house, or finished at the mill. Full home packages cut to an architect’s plans when the safe room is one line item in a bigger build. The engineered entry doors, secret rooms, and panic room systems come through Murphy Door®, and the two halves arrive speaking the same species and finish.
